Dmitry Tarasov

Dmitry V. Tarasov has been working in Sberbank of the Russian Federation from 1992. He began as economist. His carrier has been concerned with market development analysis, banks’ economy, planning, marketing, strategic development.
In 1999-2000 worked in Agency for the Restructuring of Credit Organizations and got a valuable experience in crisis situations.
In 2002 finished the second higher education (Finance and Credits, Financial Academy under the Government of the Russian Federation, honors degree).

Igor Smelyansky
Head of Asset Integration, Promsvyazbank

Igor Smelyansky was born in 1975 in Odessa, Ukraine.
In 1999 he graduated Pace University Lubin School of Business (New York, USA) with a Bachelor of Business Administration Degree (Magna Cum Laude) majoring in Public Accounting. Upon graduation Igor worked with KPMG and Cantor Fitzgerald (New York, USA), specializing in the area of international taxation.
In 2005 Mr. Smelyansky obtained his MBA degree (top 5%) from the Georgetown University McDonough School of Business and his Juris Doctor degree from the George Washington University Law School (Washington D.C., USA.). During his studies, Igor worked as a Summer Associate with Citigroup, Coudert Brothers and ILS (joint venture between Lockheed Martin and Khrunichev Space Center), where he was concentrating on structuring international deals and transactions.
Mr. Smelyansky is admitted to the Bar of the state of New York and New Jersey. He also has a CPA license from the state of Illinois.
Before starting with Promsvyazbank, from 2005 to 2008 Mr. Smelyansky had been working as a Senior Consultant and later as a Project Leader with the Boston Consulting Group (BCG). There, he took part and led M&A and restructuring projects in financial, power and industrial goods sectors of Russia and other CIS countries.
Since February 1, 2008 Igor Smelyansky has been a Head (Director) of Asset Integration with Promsvyazbank. He also serves as a Chairman of the Board for Promsvyazbank’s subsidiary banks Yarsotsbank (Yaroslavl), Volgoprombank (Volgograd) and GB Nizhny Novgorod (Nizhny Novgorod).


Vasily Yermolin

Michael Knoll is the Partner in charge of the M&A Lead Advisory (Corporate Finance) team of PricewaterhouseCoopers Russia. His experience encompasses working for foreign buyers looking for a target in Russia as well as working on behalf of Russian entrepreneurs/corporates that wish to sell a business or part of a business. Michael has been working in Russia since October 2006 and has gained extensive experience on various transactions across various industries.
Before he moved to Moscow Michael worked for six years at PricewaterhouseCoopers Switzerland, where he built and led the Financial Institutions M&A Lead Advisory team. Prior to that, Michael worked for UBS in wholesale corporate banking, structured finance and real estate investment banking both in Switzerland and abroad (in Luxembourg and New York).
Michael holds a degree in business administration (BBA) as well as an Executive MBA degree in Financial Services and Insurance from the University of St. Gallen, the Vlerick Leuven Gent Management School and the University of Nyenrode. He is also a Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA).

• Robert has over 20 years investment banking experience: 10 years in Debt Capital Markets with NatWest Markets (now RBS); 9 years with UBS Investment Bank (IB) in Corporate Finance with experience in M&A and Equity Capital Markets; two years at Close Brothers Corporate Finance and, in the most recent past (2005-07), a dedicated focus on the reorganization and realization of substantial assets of a major Russian Investment Holding Company
• Robert has experience in listings and capital raising, including public and private equity, hybrid and quasi-equity capital. He also has extensive M&A experience in both public and private company situations in Russia and across Europe
• Robert has worked for companies from diverse industries, including companies in financial services, technology, industrial markets, consumer, media and publishing and business services sectors
• In Russia he has done four banking M&A deals since 2006, each involving equity investment by international players into a top 15 Russian bank.


Anton Selivanovsky
Senior Associate of Baker & McKenzie

Mr. Selivanovsky graduated from the Moscow State Law Academy in 1996 and received his Doctor in Law degree in 2002.
Anton specializes in banking and finance law and capital markets. He regularly advises on projects related to restructuring, cross-border financing, securities market rules, asset management, banking regulation issues, currency control, securitisation, leasing, derivatives, financial services regulation. Anton led a team of lawyers during due diligence of 7 banks in connection with their potential acquisitions.
Before joining Baker & McKenzie in 2006 Anton worked as a legal expert in the Financial Services Department of PricewaterhouseCoopers and as a partner of a consulting company.
Since 2005 Mr. Selivanovsky teaches law at the State University "Higher School of Economics".
Mr. Selivanovsky is an author of a book and over 60 articles.


Mikhail Torchinskiy

Since 2005 as Managing Partner, Mikhail leads the company with a focus on setting and enabling the highest levels of professional standards and client service — all with the aim of delivering outstanding results for the clients.
From 2001 to 2005 Mikhail served as Executive Director, the 3R (React Realize Recruit). Mikhail has extensive experience in conducting CEO, COO and division/group/operating leaders for multinational and Russian companies. Mikhail has a master's degree in History, and graduated Moscow State Teachers University.


Tom Blackwell
Senior Vice President and Managing Director, Moscow

Tom Blackwell heads The PBN Company’s Moscow office, the firm’s largest office with a full-time staff of 35. He provides high-level strategic financial and corporate communications counsel to Western European and CIS clients, and personally oversees the firm’s work for Enel, Exillon Energy, HSBC and Merrill Lynch. He has an in-depth knowledge of global and emerging capital markets as well as the metallurgy, energy, telecommunications and transportation sectors.
Tom has led The PBN Company’s London and Moscow teams on a broad range of successful M&A, equity and debt transactions involving PBN clients such as Exillon Energy, Human Stem Cell Institute, M.video, Bank Saint Petersburg, TV3, MMK, Raspadskaya and Renaissance Credit.
Prior to joining the firm in 2003, Tom served for three years as Director of Research for Eastern Europe & CIS at the Adam Smith Institute, where he supervised research efforts on key industrial and financial sectors in the region.
